Patient Testimonial - Better Breathing is Possible!

When mouth breathing and a stuffy nose have been part of your life for as long as you can remember, it may be hard to imagine feeling any other way. You adjust to it. It becomes normal, even when breathing through your nose feels difficult or uncomfortable.
One Inspired Orthodontics patient recently shared what happened when she decided to find out whether better breathing was possible. Within weeks, she noticed a change that affected far more than her nose. She felt calmer, more relaxed, and surprised by how different everyday breathing could feel.
"I've been a mouth breather my whole life, and have always suffered from a stuffy nose. If you imagine, when you have a cold, what it feels like to be stuffy, that's kind of all I ever knew, and it was a little hard to decide to do it because I was used to it; it was just all I knew.
"And so there was this theoretical promise that I could breathe better and that that would feel better and that would be good for my health, but I had to sort of take a leap of faith in a way and be like, I guess there could be a world in which something I have no way of even imagining could be better.
"It was amazing! Within actually just a few weeks, my nasal breathing improved tremendously. I could feel my whole body actually relax. Like nasal breathing was very soothing. And it turns out there was a better world that was possible that I just had no way of knowing.
"So, at a physical level, I'm just more relaxed from a nervous system effect of nasal breathing. I get less colds. And then after all the dental procedure, I now have a wider smile, which I just saw for the first time. And, I'm just grateful!"
